Apple introduced new operating system updates at the World Wide Developer's Conference in San Francisco, Yosemite and iOS8. OS X.X for laptops and desktop computers is now called "Yosemite". Updates to the platform allow devices to communicate more effectively with other Apple devices. This will help compete with Google Drive and Google Docs and will push users to stay within the Apple eco system. Apple's newest "employee" Dr. Dre made a cameo appearance by phone to help demonstrate how computers will be able to locate iPhone's within the home. This function will allow users to make and receive phone calls through their computers. iOS 8 for iPhones and iPads helps that process as well. But, there are also updates for sharing pictures and controlling home appliances, Home Kit, and making mobile devices more hands free in vehicles. Users will also be able to aggregate health information from all the apps they use in Health Kit. Sergio Quintana reports from San Francisco.
