JARED BLIKRE: And time now for what to watch on Tuesday. President Biden is set to travel to Michigan on Tuesday to join the picket line and stand in solidarity with the UAW workers. This comes as United Auto Workers strike against the big three-- GM, Ford, and Stellantis-- enters its 11th day while former President Trump has already announced a trip to Detroit on Wednesday evening to join striking Union Autoworkers.
And on the earnings front, Costco set to report its first quarter results. Investors looking to get a closer read on the consumer spending front as the retailer showing relative strength heading into its earnings report. Costco seeing August sales increase of 5% following a 4.5% rise in July. And turning to the economic landscape, consumer confidence for the month of September is out Tuesday morning 10:00 AM Eastern Time. This coming after the index saw a reversal from the sharp uptick in July with confidence pulling back in August.
