Chicago Fed names Austan Goolsbee as next president

Economist and Obama-era economic adviser has been named the next president of the Chicago Fed.

DAVE BRIGGS: Breaking news out of the Fed. The Chicago Federal Reserve announcing Austan Goolsbee, friend of the show, will be the next president of the regional bank, replacing Charles Evans, who will retire in January. Goolsbee has been a professor at the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business for 28 years, and of course, served in the Obama administration as chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisors. Goolsbee will be a voting member of the FOMC next year.
