Cloud Burst Helps Microsoft Beat Street's Q4 Revenue Expectations


Microsoft posted earnings of $0.55 cents a share on revenue of $23.38 billion in its fourth quarter. Wall Street analysts were looking for $0.60 a share on sales of $23 billion from the software giant. Microsoft's results did include $2 billion in revenue and an $0.08 a share loss from the completed acquisition of Nokia Devices and Services. Last year the company earned $0.66 cents on $19.93 billion. Commercial cloud revenue grew 147% and Windows licensing revenue grew 11%. Finally, Bing search advertising revenue grew 40%, and U.S. search share grew to 19.2%. TheStreet's Gregg Greenberg reports from New York.
