EMILY MCCORMICK: Well, we're also seeing a number of these record labels, including those big three in the US. That's Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, and Columbia Records owned by Sony taking part in this movement, not participating in it business as usual.

We have individual artists within these record labels halting some of their individual streaming events that had been planned for the day and canceling some of those other listening events as well. Now Viacom CBS said it's participating in an eight-minute and 46-second blackout across its network and cable channels starting at 5:00 PM eastern.

And many record labels said in their post that business will go on as usual today. And instead, they'll be using it today to collectively reflect on what they can do as a company to put action toward change. And that's been according to the language from the post. Many are also contributing to Black Lives Matter and other organizations working to combat racial injustice. Alexis.

ALEXIS CHRISTOFOROUS: All right, Emily McCormick, thank you.
