Daughter of deceased rapper delivers ‘important’ song about gun violence on ‘AGT’

On the season premiere

we met Flau’jae, the 14-year-old daughter of rapper, Camouflage. He was shot and killed in 2003 at the age of 20 in the midst of a promising young career, which is why Flau’jae is aiming her rap skills toward a good cause.

She performed an original song about her father, and along with showing she has heart and skills, she delivered a powerful message about gun violence with lyrics like, “if he woulda put that gun down, then he woulda been here right now.”

And as if the judges giving her a four-way standing ovation and unanimously sending her through to the next round wasn’t enough, Simon Cowell tracked Flau'jae down backstage to shower her with more praise.

“That was incredible. Honestly incredible,” Cowell said with a hug. “I think what you just did there was so important and fantastic. I'm thrilled for you.”
