SALLIE KRAWCHECK: You know, what we've seen is, in this pandemic, the traditional gender roles are alive and well. And we all know it. You know, we've watched women disproportionately lose jobs and then have to come back into the home, and therefore, taking care of the children. We've seen women who are privileged enough to work from home with the kids hanging all over on Zoom.

Men's productivity during the pandemic has gone up 50%. Women's has plummeted double digit percent. Men are getting promoted at 3 plus times the rate of women. So we have sort of-- you know, what is it, like, back to the future? Vroom! We got into whatever that car was, and we went slamming into the 1950s. You know, we just need the frilly aprons at this stage.

So what can men do? Your share of the work at home, and then in the workplace, recognizing that we don't always have to be on every call together. We can work asynchronously, that flexibility helps everybody, and to make certain that you're not penalizing women because of a traditional gender role they may be playing in their home.
