BRIAN SOZZI: All right, perhaps investors are right to cheer the first 50 basis point interest rate hike from the Federal Reserve since 2000, even if that seems like a counterintuitive reaction. The S&P 500 went on to rally 7.3% on average in the 12 months following 50 basis point rate hikes from the Fed between 1978 and 2000, according to data from LPL Financial's Ryan Detrick.
