Former presidential candidate Andrew Yang thinks Elon Musk would find ‘a natural home’ in the Forward Party

Forward Party founder and former presidential and mayoral candidate Andrew Yang joined Yahoo Finance’s Influencers with Andy Serwer to discuss Elon Musk, democracy and the state of the two-party political system in the United States.

Video Transcript

[MUSIC PLAYING]

ANDREW YANG: I think that the Forward Party is a natural home for Elon because he's a builder, an entrepreneur. He wants to solve really important problems. He's not an ideological guy. And I think what's happened is that he's picked up on the fact that, really, both parties have become ideological and he's, as you're suggesting, looking for a home the same way that millions of other Americans are.

ANDY SERWER: Any conversations with him yet about it?

ANDREW YANG: I'm excited to sit down with Elon and have those conversations. We're going to have a series of announcements upcoming in the summer, so stay tuned.
