DAVE BRIGGS: On Hurricane Ian, the powerful Category 4 storm just 2 miles per hour shy of a Cat 5, as it moves on shore near Fort Myers and Naples, Florida. Millions of Floridians are under evacuation orders. Forecast calling for 15 to 25 inches of rain, catastrophic storm surge up to 18 feet high, and winds of 155 miles per hour.
Most airports in the region are closed, more than 2,000 flights canceled. All Disney and Universal Studios parks closed, as are more than 20 Waffle House locations. As of 2:00 PM Eastern time, just nearing shore, Fort Myers and Naples. We will keep you posted. More coverage ahead of Hurricane Ian.
