Jay Leno drives a blistering 202 MPH in new Corvette ZR1

Jay Leno's Garage visited General Motors famous Milford Proving Grounds in Michigan. And while Leno was there, Corvette's chief engineer let him take a stock 2019 Corvette ZR1 for a spin at over 200 miles per hour. The ZR1 has a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine, which generates 755 horsepower. That is a lot of power for a car that costs around $120,000. After chief engineer Tadge Juechter showed up in the new car, Leno asked, "You know, all these people say their cars go 200 miles an hour, but nobody actually sees if they actually do. Can we try and take this to 200 miles an hour?" Juechter was happy to oblige. Leno was able to pilot the ZR1 around a high bank oval track at 202 MPH. He said, "This car is incredibly stable. Pretty, pretty, amazing accomplishment." Jay Leno’s Garage airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. CNBC.
