Jim Cramer Says He'd Rather Own Shares of Dollar Tree Right Now
Dollar General upped its bid for Family Dollar to $80 a share in cash while also promising to divest up to 1,500 stores. Jim Cramer says this is a way to make concessions for what Family Dollar says is wrong with the deal - which is too much overlap. Dollar General also offered a $500 million reverse termination fee should antitrust regulators block the deal. Cramer regards the Dollar Tree offer as the bird in the hand. He does believe the antitrust review is going to be very tough to overcome. Cramer says he believes the government will regard them as a particular class of stores. Cramer says he'd rather own Dollar Tree over Family Dollar.
