Yahoo Finance's Brian Cheung breaks down the chart of the day on viral music streaming trends.
BRIAN CHEUNG: Well, time now for our Chart of the Day. And today, we want to highlight Kate Bush's 1985 track "Running Up That Hill," which, by the way, is still the number one song on the Billboard Global charts after digging into the ears of "Stranger Things" fans. This data comes from music industry provider Luminate. And it shows the streaming data that illustrates just how much larger the pop was for this song than other songs that went viral.
Looking at the blue line, Nirvana's "Something in the Way." That was from the "Batman" movie, people will recall. And also, the orange line, the Fleetwood Mac song, "Dreams," one of my personal favorites. If you recall, that was from that TikTok video of the man in California skateboarding while drinking cranberry juice. So, apparently, you're getting a much bigger boost if you are used on a Netflix show, something good to know for any upcoming musicians--
