New York legislators are running out of time to pass the Compassionate Care Act. The senate bill that would legalize medicinal marijuana had passed through the health committee only to get stalled in the finance committee. The bill's sponsor Diane Savino pulled it from that committee when it was clear it would not get a vote and moved it over to the rules committee, putting it one step closer to a floor vote. Governor Cuomo said on a recent WCNY radio program that he had serious concerns about the legal marijuana program. Legislators are expected to engage in heavy negotiations this weekend.
