Yahoo Finance's Alexandra Canal breaks down where to find the best deals on National Margarita Day as new Grubhub data shows how virgin margaritas are trending ahead of the holiday.

Video Transcript

SEANA SMITH: Now switching gears here a little bit. I guess you can maybe transition from saying some people heard that news and maybe they're going to need a drink. But you're also covering the fact that Monday is Margarita Day. It's National Margarita Day. I guess if you're looking to find the best deals, where can you find them and what can we expect?

ALEXANDRA CANAL: Best deals. I mean Margarita Day, National Margarita Day, on Monday. I mean, Monday is normally the worst day of the week. But now it could possibly be the best. But there are some really good deals out there. We have Chili's Bahama Breeze. You can go there and have a $5 Margarita there. There's also the restaurant-- Tex-Mex-- On The Border. They are actually celebrating National Margarita Day the entire month of February. You can get a taste of their special tequila drink for also $5. Your local eateries as well.

But there is new data that suggests that not all consumers are gravitating towards the tequila-infused drink. Because according to Grubhub, Virgin Margaritas were actually trending leading up to Monday. So you see on your screen there-- virgin Margaritas are number one, followed by Tropical, On the Rocks, Strawberry, Cadillac, and Lime. Now this comes after an explosive year for mocktails, with US sales of non-alcoholic or low alcoholic beverages increasing over 30% in 2020, according to the intelligence company IWSR.

We also saw Dry January have a comeback this year.

ADAM SHAPIRO: Boo!

ALEXANDRA CANAL: According to a new Morning Consult poll, of those that were surveyed 13% said that they are participating in Dry January. I am not one of those. But if that's what people want this year because they've been drinking too much with the pandemic, there you go.

ADAM SHAPIRO: I certainly don't think people should abuse adult beverages, but I worked with a weather caster many years ago in Cleveland on Webster-- a fond memory. It's all who said that the United States started going downhill when they got rid of the three-Martini lunch. And as I've gotten older, I [? think John ?] did something the rest of us had forgotten. Ways to get in Margaritaville. Thank you very much, Ali.
