Netflix to lease Paris Theatre for screenings, special events

One of New York’s oldest and most iconic theaters that shuttered in August, the Paris Theater, is being saved by Netflix. The streaming giant announced that it will use this single-screen cinema to showcase its own films and for special events. This isn’t the first we’ve heard of Netflix delving into the traditional theater space. Since April, it has been working on a deal to buy the Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles. Last year, Netflix even reported to have looked into buying a small chain like Landmark Theatres.
