AKIKO FUJITA: Time for news "On the Move." Mandatory evacuations have been ordered in California's Napa Valley region, as the state faces two new wildfires. The Glass Fire and the Zogg Fire have already burned nearly 10,000 acres in the northern part of the state, forcing thousands of residents to leave their homes. There have now been more than 8,000 wildfires in California so far this year.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott issuing a disaster declaration on Sunday, after a brain-eating amoeba was found in water supplies in a Houston suburb. Lake Jackson, Texas remains under a boil water notice, as state and city officials continue to flush and disinfect the water system. This comes weeks after a six-year-old boy died after contracting the microbe.

And going the distance for the presidential election. NASA astronaut Kate Rubins says she plans to cast her absentee ballot from space, 200 miles above earth. Rubins is currently in Russia preparing for a launch next month to the International Space Station. Texas, where NASA is headquartered, does allow astronauts to vote from space using an electronic ballot, and Rubins says it is important for everybody to vote, saying, if we can do it from space, then folks can do it from the ground too.
