Yahoo Finance's Adam Shapiro breaks down the top news stories Tuesday.

Video Transcript

ADAM SHAPIRO: News on the Move-- evangelical Liberty University launched an independent investigation into the school's disgraced former president, Jerry Falwell Jr. The probe will look into Falwell's financial, real estate, and legal dealings. Falwell resigned following a sex scandal involving his wife and a pool boy who became their business partner. The university says it intends to learn of the consequences that, and this is a quote, "have flowed from a lack of spiritual stewardship by our former president."

A survey by NBC's Survey Monkey shows a majority of Americans plan to vote early. That includes voting by mail and in person. 52% of respondents will vote early, with 19% planning to vote in person and 33% voting by mail. A little more than 30% of respondents said they would vote in person on Election Day this coming November 3.

Actor Chadwick Boseman died last week from colon cancer. But his fans are keeping his legacy alive, watching his blockbuster films on digital platforms. He played baseball legend Jackie Robinson in the movie "42," which ranks number three right now on Apple's iTunes chart. Marvel Studios' "Black Panther" ranks number four.

In 2017, he starred in "Marshall," a biographical movie about Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall. And it ranks number seven. Amazon reports Boseman's films are currently among the top-10 best sellers on its platforms.
