From Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra to Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson, Meghan McCain says ‘Trump’s America’ triggers shotgun engagements

Over the past month, quickie engagements have become a trend among celebrities: Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson got engaged after dating for only weeks, Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin followed suit after rekindling their romance, and now Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra reportedly are planning on walking down the aisle.

The View co-host Meghan McCain might lack the star power of Bieber and Co., but she married her boyfriend, Ben Domenech, relatively quickly too. And on Friday morning, she shared that she thinks something — or rather someone — is responsible for all these sudden engagements.

"I have this theory," McCain said. "Trump's America makes everything more intense and heightened because we're constantly talking about the threat of nuclear war that we want to be nurtured by each other."

She continued: "I would not have gotten together with my husband if Trump didn't become the [Republican] nominee and [didn't run] for president."
