BRIAN SOZZI: All right, when times get tough for the economy, the consumer gets shopping for big deals at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross Stores, and other off-price retailers. Goldman Sachs analyst Brooke Roach charted same-store sales for off-price retailers compared to GDP growth. You can see there on the screen that when GDP has dipped, off-price retailers tend to see a sales lift.
