BRIAN SOZZI: All right, it's been an underwhelming earnings season to say the very least. About 71% of S&P 500 companies have reported a positive EPS surprise for Q3, which is below the five-year average of 77%, according to FactSet. Meanwhile, S&P 500 companies are beating EP estimates for Q3, but only 2.2% aggregate, which is below the five-year average of 8.7%
