Yahoo Finance Live's Rachelle Akuffo looks at President Biden's trip to Saudi Arabia, his meeting with Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and past criticisms for the crown prince's involvement with the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

RACHELLE AKUFFO: As the US struggles under the weight of record inflation and high oil prices, President Biden making a controversial trip to Saudi Arabia as part of his Middle East trip. Now, he was greeted at the Al Salaam Palace by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The two exchange a fist bump after much debate over whether or not there would be handshakes.

Now, the trip of course, has been criticized as Biden once vowed to treat Saudi Arabia as a pariah as punishment over the 2018 killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. But, the President is hoping Saudi Arabia, the world's largest oil exporter, can deliver more oil and bring prices down. Experts are conflicted over the odds of that happening and how costly the optics of the trip may be.
