Samsung has just unleashed the Galaxy Note 8, its newest flagship smartphone. In terms of design, Samsung hit the nail on the head with the S8 and S8+ that came out earlier this year, and it’s rightly chosen not to mess around with the formula.

Signing in to Windows 10 with a Microsoft account allows you to easily sync settings and files between devices. It's not mandatory (you can sign in using a local account or an Active Directory account on a corporate domain instead), but using a Microsoft account is convenient for anyone who regularly switches between Windows devices. But that central connection point comes with security and privacy risks. How do you know whether an attacker in Kazakhstan or Vietnam has compromised your account? (See the screenshot at the top of this post.) And how do you manage sensitive details like payment information and your personal profile? The easiest starting point is the Microsoft account dashboard,

The retail stock carnage among Amazon's victims is one of the biggest market stories during the past year. But the Wall Street firm that was early in calling out the risk for some retailers with its prescient "Death by Amazon" index in 2014 is now saying there are companies that can survive the e-commerce giant's onslaught. To complement "our existing … index of companies most vulnerable to Amazon's rise, we are introducing a new index of retail companies that should be less exposed to the DBA [death by Amazon] threat," Bespoke Investment Group said in a note to clients Tuesday. "Our new index is composed of retail and apparel companies that have their own brands or focus on goods that Amazon
Left confirmed he is currently short shares of the communications equipment maker in an email to CNBC. A Motorola Solutions decline to $45, would represent a fall of nearly 50 percent for the shares. "We continue to believe MSI will play a materially smaller role in the evolving public safety market in the medium-term versus its dominant position today," Left wrote in a new blog post about the company Wednesday. "It is only a matter of time before the market withdraws MSI's high-growth tech stock multiple, and it is repriced for what is left of its business. Losing handset sales will be the initial blow to MSI and service revenue will soon follow." Motorola Solutions shares traded up 0.6 percent

This hedge fund trader in his latest SEC filing is indicating lack of confidence for the Chinese tech-verse, with his most recent plays revealing downsized positions in three stocks: Baozun Inc (ADR) (NASDAQ:BZUN), Momo Inc (ADR) (NASDAQ:MOMO), and Alibaba Group Holding Ltd (NYSE:BABA). Momentum investing savvy hinges upon buying stocks tearing up the Street with excitement- not the value bargain-bin deals that only get such attractive valuation from investors turning their nose in disdain.
By buying Whole Foods, Amazon will get more than 460 stores and potentially very lucrative data about how shoppers behave offline. Walmart, for example, is expanding its grocery delivery service with ride-hailing service Uber and announced Wednesday that it will join forces with Google to let shoppers order goods by voice on Google devices. The deal may also breathe new life into Whole Foods, which had been under intense shareholder pressure to improve results and retain customers who have more choices about where to get natural foods.
Weak patient admissions that plagued U.S. hospital operators in the June quarter are likely to persist through 2018, as patients fret about soaring out-of-pocket costs and the future of Obamacare remains uncertain. Companies including HCA Healthcare Inc, the largest for-profit hospital operator, and Tenet Healthcare Corp have reported dismal quarterly results and cut their forecasts for the year. Tenet saw weakness in elective procedures including orthopedics, Eric Evans, the company's president of hospital operations, said earlier this month.
Consumer Reports has no financial relationship with advertisers on this site. For Kim-Chi Tyler Chen, a resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, online grocery shopping is essential. The 51-year-old independent video producer and mother of a son with strict dietary requirements has to travel frequently, often on short notice, which leaves little time to trawl through supermarket aisles.
Seadrill Ltd (NYSE:SDRL) is hanging by a thread, and SDRL stock is virtually un-ownable here. Because the oil drilling outfit has suspiciously been left out of the modest recovery other energy stocks have cobbled together, and — oh yeah — Seadrill has recently made legal moves that would shield one of its key operating units if the company did file for bankruptcy. There’s a reason SDRL stock is (literally) down more than 99% since its late-2013 peak … a peak that occurred when oil prices were sky high.

Not only does the stock pay an above-average 3.2% dividend yield, but the company has increased its dividend payment every year for five decades. Here's an overview of Federal Realty Investment Trust's business and why now might be a smart time to add this long-term winning stock to your portfolio while it's trading at a discount. Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC) CEO Timothy Sloan said Tuesday that forthcoming results from the bank's review of its consumer sales scandal could cause more negative attention. "The results of our reviews will generate news headlines, but even as we face this renewed coverage, the best thing we can do is stay focused on fixing problems, making things right for customers, and building a better, stronger Wells Fargo," Sloan said in a company-wide message that was shared in a press release. Sloan also said that "within a few weeks" the bank will announce the completion of an expanded review by a third party of the fake consumer accounts workers had opened.

By Anjali Athavaley NEW YORK (Reuters) - Verizon Communications Inc said on Tuesday that it was introducing a cheaper unlimited mobile data plan with some limits as it tries to lure customers away from rival wireless carriers. "While entry-level pricing appears more competitive, the changes more likely reflect the impact current plans are having on Verizon's network," Mike McCormack, an analyst at Jefferies, said in a note. "The move also follows a trend of differentiating unlimited plans to manage congestion and monetize the network." Verizon has been competing for customers with smaller rivals T-Mobile US Inc and Sprint Corp in a saturated U.S. market for wireless service as most consumers already have cell phones.

Hit three times with the ugly stick, Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) gives you plenty of reasons to run for cover. First and foremost, F stock has weak technical momentum. Despite its repulsiveness, I’m worried that those who try to outright short F stock are going to get burned.
The new 6.3-inch device has an "infinity display" that wraps around the edges of the phone and Samsung's Bixby voice assistant, the virtual aide that launched in the UK yesterday. The Note 8 comes with the S-pen stylus, which can be used even when the phone's screen is off, such as to take notes or make a shopping list. Samsung was forced to globally recall its Note 7 phone last year after a battery fault led to devices overheating and caused a handful to burst into flames. The Note 8 is Samsung's first smartphone to come with a dual camera lens, technology employed in the iPhone 7 Plus and Android challengers such as the Nokia 8 and OnePlus 5.
Pratt & Whitney’s $10 billion bet on a new jet engine is faltering after a troubled rollout, and buyers are rushing to a General Electric Co. model instead. The GE turbine has won 10 times as many orders this year to power a narrow-body Airbus SE plane on which the two suppliers compete head to head. Pratt has signed just one buyer in that span to supply its geared turbofan engine for the aircraft, according to data provided to Bloomberg by Flight Ascend Consultancy. The figures paint a stark picture for Pratt and parent United Technologies Corp., which billed the so-called GTF as a technological breakthrough that was supposed to help reverse GE’s recent market dominance. Instead, weak demand
