Retirement Home Evacuated as Intense Floods Hit Central Mississippi
More than 40 residents of a retirement home in Brandon, Mississippi, were evacuated on Wednesday, August 24, as flash flooding surrounded the building and left vehicles parked outside partially submerged, according to local media citing officials.

WLBT reported that 42 residents were transferred to the Rankin County Safe Room, a shelter usually used during tornadoes and hurricanes.
