Some much-needed help arrived for San Joaquin County doctors in their fight to stay safe from the novel coronavirus as they treat patients. Vehicles lined up Friday morning for the drive-thru event at the Health Plan of San Joaquin to get personal protective equipment, or PPE. The safety gear, which includes N95 and surgical masks, gowns, gloves and face shields, was acquired by the California Office of Emergency Services, the California Medical Association and the San Joaquin Medical Society. Millions of pieces of PPE were distributed to private practice doctors, who face many challenges to obtain PPE. Get the full story in the video above.
