The sports betting world is gearing up for the potential return of Tiger Woods at the Masters Tournament.

Video Transcript

Welcome back. Tiger's back. 14 months after nearly losing a leg in a serious car accident, Woods returning to the Masters. He said he's coming there to win, not just to play. And he's playing just like that. He's on the 18th green as we speak, one under par for the five-time champ-- believe it or not, five back surgeries removed. And he's just three shots back of the leader Cameron Smith.

Despite the injuries, the 46-year-old was the most bet upon player to win the tournament. He's also the most popular pick to miss the cut, which tells you all the money is on Tiger on both ends. He's attracted over three times more bets and double the money of any golfer, according to PointsBet.

They're among several online Sportsbook to report Tiger winning would be the worst result for any golf tournament since legal sports betting began in the US. The largest recorded bet to this moment is on FanDuel-- 15 grand on Tiger to win that would net 765K. Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya at least tweeted that he bet $500,000 on Tiger Woods to win, which would net about $20 million. Safe to say, he might have been hit in the head a few too many times if that indeed is true. No confirmation of it.
