Stocks End First Half Of 2014 Unmoved, GM Issues 6 New Recalls

Stocks barely moved in today's trading closing the first half of the year in a tight trading range. The S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrials closed lower but the Nasdaq was able to squeeze a small gain. General Motors shares are in the red after announcing six new recalls. Trading in GM were temporarily halted at the New York Stock Exchange for the automaker to make the announcement. General Motors is recalling another 7.6 million vehicles in the U.S. The automaker said it will also take a $1.2 billion charge in the second quarter, related to the recalls that's up by $500 million from a previous estimate.
