Taylor Swift reportedly explored $100 million FTX sponsorship deal

Yahoo Finance Live anchors discuss reports that Taylor Swift neared a deal with FTX before the crypto exchange went bankrupt.

Video Transcript

JULIE HYMAN: There's no teardrops on Taylor Swift's guitar after the singer was reportedly in the late stages of negotiating a $100 million sponsorship deal with the now bankrupt crypto firm FTX before the deal fell through. That's according to a new report from the Financial Times.

BRIAN SOZZI: Well, I'm not even allowed to listen to Taylor Swift anymore. 21 to 39-- I don't fit in there now.

JULIE HYMAN: There's no shame in being [INAUDIBLE].

BRIAN SOZZI: But I want to go to Dave & Buster's, and I want to listen to Taylor Swift.

BRAD SMITH: They played it over the loudspeakers.

JULIE HYMAN: OK, sure, do it.

BRIAN SOZZI: Man, it's so depressing.

JULIE HYMAN: Do it. It's all right.

BRIAN SOZZI: This really ruined my whole mood for the day.

JULIE HYMAN: No.

BRIAN SOZZI: It really just did, and I needed to say that live.

BRAD SMITH: Well--

JULIE HYMAN: I'm very sorry, Sozz.

BRAD SMITH: We can play you some Taylor Swift, and that will surely--

BRIAN SOZZI: [INAUDIBLE]

JULIE HYMAN: Oh, yeah, I'm sure that's really going to cheer you up.

BRIAN SOZZI: I'm gonna pull up Carvana stock and get even sadder now.

JULIE HYMAN: Anyway, T Swift avoiding, I guess, dodging a bullet by not partnering with FTX, like many of her peers on the A-list did, but I mean, I don't know. It's sort of a moot point now, isn't it?

BRAD SMITH: Right, she's probably glad that she wasn't able to-- or did not to go forward with it either.

JULIE HYMAN: She's not going to be you know, making the lawsuit.

BRIAN SOZZI: Brad, enjoy your trip to Dave & Buster's. Send us some photos because me and Julie--
