Transforming the world’s least sustainable city

Phoenix, once called the “least sustainable city in the world,” is on a mission to correct the record. In 2013, the city set the ambitious goal of diverting 40 percent of the 1 million tons of trash sent to its landfill by 2020 with the Reimagine Phoenix Initiative.
