There has been a ton of reactions to ABC’s decision to cancel its popular sitcom Roseanne after its star, Roseanne Barr, tweeted a racist comment about former Barack Obama staffer Valerie Jarrett.
The actress compared the African-American lawyer to an ape. ABC — owned by the Walt Disney Company — released a statement, saying, “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values.”
Although most praised the network for its quick response, President Donald Trump had a different and expected approach to the ordeal. Just as he did on Memorial Day, Trump tweeted a statement making Barr’s firing all about himself.
