The Yahoo Finance Live team breaks down three things to know for the week of Feb. 27.
- Here is a look at three things that we're watching next week. First up. Wednesday we have Tesla's investor day. CEO Elon Musk giving a small preview, tweeting that he'll be unveiling Master Plan 3, the path to a fully sustainable energy future for Earth. Among the issues Musk is expected to address, updates to Tesla's self-driving system and the Cybertruck. As far as the stock goes, Deutsche Bank's analysts believe that the investor day has the potential to help the stock keep re-rating higher.
- Also on Wednesday, after the bell we will have Salesforce's fourth-quarter earnings. The company has become the target of five different activist investors, including Third Point, Elliott Management, and also Starboard Value. Now, investors will be looking to see if CEO Marc Benioff addresses those activists concerns. We will also be watching for any updates to the company's 2023 outlook and for insight into how the broader pullback that we are seeing in tech spending is impacting Salesforce's business.
- And on Thursday, we have a big day of retail earnings. Among them, Macy's and Best Buy, which report before the market open. After the bell, we'll get results from Nordstrom and Costco, Yahoo Finance's 2022 Company of the Year.
This week we got signs from Walmart and Home Depot that the consumer is starting to pull back on spending. We'll be watching these retailers to find out if they are seeing and starting to see the same thing. We'll also be looking to see what these retailers say about buying trends during this period of high inflation.
- A lot to look forward to next week. Well, that does it for us for this week on Yahoo Finance Live! Thanks so much for tuning in. We'll see you right back here on Monday, 3:00 PM Eastern time. Have a great weekend.
