IKEA recalls 'LYDA' jumbo coffee and tea cups due to burn hazard
WASHINGTON (AP) -- IKEA is recalling its "LYDA" jumbo coffee and tea cups due a burn hazard.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday that the cups can break when hot liquid is poured into them. No injuries have been reported in the U.S., but 20 incidents have been reported worldwide, including 10 scalding injuries.
Consumers should stop using the product and return them to IKEA for a refund.
The cups were sold between August 2012 and April 2013 for about $5.The recall includes 11,000 20-ounce cups in the U.S.
The cups are four inches tall and white with a pink rose and green leaves and have the following information printed on the bottom: Model number 302.033.7; Supplier number 10866; the IKEA logo; the words "IKEA of Sweden Design and Quality" and "Made in Thailand."
