WVU business school gets $1M gift from alumnus
WVU business school gets major gift Wednesday as part of private fundraising campaign
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) -- West Virginia University's College of Business and Economics is receiving a $1 million gift from a school alumnus.
Officials with the Morgantown school announced the gift from J. Michael Bodnar on Wednesday afternoon.
Bodnar is a restaurant executive and president of Bodnar Investment Group Inc. and resides in the Nashville, Tenn., area.
He received his bachelor's degree in civil engineering and his master's degree in business administration in 1969. Bodnar was named to the inaugural class of the school's roll of distinguished alumni in 2011.
Officials say the gift will be divided into two equal parts to establish an entrepreneurship and innovation endowment, as well as a hospitality and tourism support fund.
The donation is part of West Virginia University's "A State of Minds," comprehensive private fundraising campaign.
