Apple facility catches fire in Arizona
The roof of an Apple (AAPL)-affiliated facility in Arizona caught fire Tuesday, sending smoke billowing.
No injuries were immediately reported, the Mesa Fire Department said. The fire was under control by about 2:50 p.m., ET.
The blaze started at the solar panels on the building's roof; its cause was not immediately known. About 40 to 50 workers from Apple and various firms evaluating the facility's construction left safely.
Apple announced it would invest $2 billion in a data center in Mesa earlier this year. It was not immediately clear if the fire had any connection to the project.

Apple did not respond to a request to comment.
The data center is one of Apple's largest investments ever, the company said in February. The facility was expected to employ 150 full-time Apple employees and create at least 300 construction and trade jobs.
