Celanese to Feature Innovations at Drug Delivery Partnerships

Chemical and advanced materials maker, Celanese Corporation CE declared that it will showcase “Innovation in Drug Delivery: Enhancing Patient Care with EVA and Engineering Polymers” at the 2016 Drug Delivery Partnerships conference in Palm Beach Gardens, FL on Jan 21.

The experts of the company will provide their insights about the latest innovations in controlled release excipients and engineered polymers for complex drug delivery devices and implants.

The company will focus on VitalDose EVA – a controlled-release excipient for use in pharmaceutical drug delivery implants that need a constant release of active ingredients.  The company will also highlight a tribologically-modified medical copolymer – Hostaform MT SlideX POM. The copolymer is ideal for use in complex drug delivery devices including dry powder inhalers, insulin pens, auto-injectors and medical pump systems.

Celanese is making easy-to-use drug delivery devices and implants. It is also creating broader device and implant design options that cater to the changing drug delivery needs.

The company remains focused on reducing costs and running its plants more efficiently amid an uncertain operating backdrop. Its strong presence in emerging markets should support earnings this year.

However, Celanese is exposed to volatile raw material prices. Celanese's balance sheet leverage is also relatively high, limiting its financial flexibility.

Celanese currently carries a Zacks Rank #4 (Sell).

Some better-ranked stocks in the basic materials sector are Koninklijke DSM N.V. RDSMY, Axiall Corporation AXLL and Yara International ASA YARIY. While Koninklijke carries a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), both Yara International and Axiall hold a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
