Cinematique Closes $800,000 Seed Round to Accelerate Growth and Acquire New Partnerships

The Startup Behind the Touchable Video Platform Announces New Capital and Names Advertising Legend, Sir John Hegarty as Advisory Board Member

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 23, 2014) - Cinematique today announced a $800,000 seed capital round from a network of investors and a group of high net worth individuals to close out its seed round. Serial entrepreneur Karl Alomar, a partner at NYC-based Flavorpill and COO of Digital Ocean, and Velocify CEO, Nick Hedges are amongst Cinematique's prominent angels. The new capital will be utilized to further develop the startup's touchable technology, implement new marketing strategies and acquire new partnerships.

In addition, Cinematique has announced that advertising legend, Sir John Hegarty, founder of powerhouse agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH) will serve on the company's advisory board. "Sit back for a moment and think about the implications of Cinematique's technology and your brain will explode with the possibilities," said Hegarty, who is famously known for hundreds of visionary campaigns including placing an unknown Brad Pitt in the first Levi's commercial.

"Things have changed a lot in the past five years, consumers are using the internet to watch TV shows, movies and music videos rather than on their televisions," said Cinematique co-founder, Kyle Heller. "As viewers, we are evolving and so should the video experience. As filmmakers, we have the knowledge to make it happen. Content creators want a new, targeted way to profit with their audience and our platform provides that. Our investors are excited to see how we are disrupting the industry."

On the heels of their iOS release, the Cinematique platform provides brands and content creators with the ability to turn their online videos into a "touchable" experience. While watching a video -- whether it is a music video, popular TV show or a clothing brand's latest collection -- viewers can simply "touch" the products on the screen they are interested in and save them into a personal boutique that can be shared and shopped from afterwards. The technology also gives content producers the ability to assess the value of their efforts and better understand how their audience is digesting content. Cinematique's innovative and valuable platform has put them in the forefront of the entire online video industry.
