Citrix pops on strong quarter, outlook

Earnings Beat, Guidance Raised

Citrix Systems reported first-quarter earnings of $0.59 a share on revenue of $589 million. Analysts had expected $0.51 and $562.3 million, respectively. Management also raised guidance, and CTXS is up almost 10 percent before the bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.

Mobile Weakness Hurts Chip Maker

TriQuint Semiconductor has a bleak outlook for the second quarter as mobile demand weakens. It now expects a loss of $0.10 to $0.15 per share on revenues of $170 million to $185 million. Analysts had expected a profit of $0.05 on revenue of $223 million. TQNT dropped 16 percent before the bell.

Skechers Results Better Than Expected

Skechers USA is stepping up. The shoe retailer reported a first-quarter loss of just $0.07 a share, way better than the consensus estimate for a loss of $0.27. Sales totaled $351.3 million, beating the $336 million average estimate. SKX soars by 16 percent in premarket trading.

Huron Misses the Mark

Huron Consulting Group earned $0.13, missing the $0.42 analyst estimate by a mile. Revenue also lagged badly, coming in at $138.6 million, versus the Street's $151.48 million. Guidance was no better. HURN plunged 14 percent after the bell yesterday but hasn't traded yet this morning.
