Edan Highlights Acclarix AX8 Ultrasound System at American College of Rheumatology
BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - November 14, 2014) - Edan Medical, the Silicon Valley ultrasound design center of global medical device manufacturer Edan Instruments, today announced it will introduce the Acclarix™ AX8 Compact Ultrasound System to the rheumatology market at the American College of Rheumatology annual meeting, held Nov. 16-18, 2014 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.
The Acclarix AX8 system, the first in a new generation of ultrasound products from Edan, was showcased last month at ANESTHESIOLOGY™ 2014 in New Orleans, followed by an introduction to the rest of the world at the MEDICA® 2014 World Forum for Medicine in Düsseldorf, Germany earlier this week. Acclarix technology significantly expands Edan's ultrasound product portfolio that formerly consisted of entry-level systems.

The exceptional image quality of the Acclarix AX8 is a result of the system's tremendous computing power that delivers the image quality and color Doppler sensitivity of a larger console system in a laptop configuration. A host of design features streamline daily operation and include a tilt-and-swivel monitor, extended battery life, a completely sealed control panel, needle visualization technology and application-specific exam and imaging presets. Six fully optimized transducers cover the range of point-of-care applications including rheumatology, anesthesia, musculoskeletal, interventional radiology, emergency medicine, critical care and surgery.
Demonstrations of the Acclarix AX8 system are scheduled throughout the meeting in Edan's booth, #221, Sunday-Tuesday, Nov. 16-18 during exhibit hours.
