Jacobs Secures Plum Air Force Contract Worth $18.7M

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (JEC) was recently awarded a new Performance-Based Remediation task order under the Worldwide Environmental Restoration and Construction contract by the U.S. Air Force. The contract aims at ensuring environmental cleanup requirements for Eielson Air Force Base of Alaska. The estimated value of new project awarded by the U.S. Air Force Civil Engineer Center (:AFCEC) is $18.7 million.

The Contract and its Impact

The scope of this contract involves the accomplishment of engineering and construction services like designing and investigation of remedial action, and construction, among others. Moreover, the agreement includes certain environmental reformation initiatives as well. In a nutshell, the contract entails Jacobs to achieve the performance objectives at 79 sites of the Installation Restoration Program.

The new project under the contract will help increase Jacobs’s aggregate revenue from the U.S. Federal Agencies in the upcoming quarters. Through the new deal, the company will extend its 20-year long expertise in remediation services to the Alaskan Air Force Base and reinforce its business relationship with the elite defense unit. Thus, the agreement will augment the brand value of the organization in the market.

Moving Forward

Jacobs is one of the most popular technical services providers in the global forum. It offers professional, technical and construction services to diversified public, industrial and commercial clients. The organization also assists in maximizing social welfare by lowering the annual global carbon footprint by approximately 4.3 million metric tons. The new project will likely generate greater internal as well as external positive developments for Jacobs. Nevertheless, such optimistic outcomes can be offset by uncertain currency or exchange rate issues in the near future. Additionally, the service quality of the company depends, to a considerable extent, on the efficiency of its third-party resource and equipment suppliers.

Some companies in the industry slated to report earnings shortly include Foster Wheeler AG (FWLT), Pernix Group Inc. (PRXG) and Quanta Services, Inc. (PWR).
