Largest option buying in equities so far
Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.
Suncor Energy (SU): More than 17,500 May 32 calls were bought for $0.10 and $0.11 as investors look for upside in the share price. SU fell 1.04 percent to $28.61.
Verizon Communications (VZ): A block of 5,357 April calls was bought for $3.25 and an equal number of May 48 calls was sold for $1.50. Volume was below open interest at the lower strike, indicating an existing short position was rolled forward in time. VZ rose 0.10 percent to $49.35.
J.C. Penney (JCP): Some 36,000 May 12 puts were bought, mostly for $0.30, as traders brace for downside in the department-store operator. JCP rose 6.70 percent to $ 16.09.
