New York judge denies Apple request to suspend her ruling in e-books case

NEW YORK (AP) -- A New York judge has refused a request by Apple Inc. to temporarily suspend her ruling that it violated antitrust laws by conspiring with publishers to raise electronic book prices in 2010.

Judge Denise Cote ruled from the bench Friday in Manhattan federal court. She declined to withdraw the effect of last month's ruling while Apple appeals.

The company continues to fight what it calls "false accusations."
