Percussion Software Announces Release of Version 3.3, Giving Marketers the Power to Succeed

WOBURN, MA--(Marketwired - Oct 29, 2013) - Percussion Software, a leading provider of web content management (WCM) software, today announced the launch of version 3.3 of Percussion CMS, which includes two new features: Migrate to Mobile and Widget Builder. This release continues Percussion's efforts to provide tools to marketers to maintain rich, engaging websites without the need of expensive development resources.

Leveraging Percussion's patent-pending LiveFirst technology, Migrate to Mobile provides customers with tools to migrate their existing, non-responsive websites to one that is mobile-friendly. An existing site can be imported -- including content, information architecture and design -- and seamlessly migrated to a responsive framework. Users can then preview how their site will appear on various devices before publishing to their production web server.

"Businesses have reached the tipping point where mobile is no longer a nice-to-have. Their customers expect mobile access and a seamless experience regardless of device, and if they don't get it, they will go elsewhere," said Dan Flanigan, vice president of products. "The tools we're delivering enable marketers to make websites more responsive and mobile friendly without overtaxing their IT resources, who are free to focus on their strategic needs."

Also as part of version 3.3 Percussion is releasing Widget Builder, which allows users to create their own custom widgets, while ensuring they are compatible with future releases of Percussion CMS. This feature will allow web designers to build custom widgets such as panel sliders, tabbed displays or other complex structured data, while providing content contributors an easy-to-use, form-based interface to add content. Widget Builder minimizes the technical skills needed to extend the application and automates the process of packaging and deployment.

Percussion customer Greenville County School District Senior Web Developer Paul Jobson was among the early beta testers of Widget Builder. He said "We were really excited to get our hands on the new Widget Builder tool. It enables us to provide a larger range of content capabilities, from basic HTML blocks to more advanced options, like Google Calendar integration, while keeping the experience easy-to-use and comfortable for our end users."

Percussion CMS gives marketing departments the tools they need to keep up with the rapid pace of change on the web. Search engine optimization (SEO) has changed marketing. Getting found requires more content published by more people in more channels. Flanigan stated "marketing is being held to a greater level of accountability to measure impact of marketing programs. Percussion software provides unparalleled usability that removes the roadblocks associated with getting more content online, in more places, faster than ever before."
