RIO DE JANEIRO, March 1 (Reuters) - Brazil's state-led oil company Petroleo Brasileiro SA plans to increase oil platform maintenance shutdowns in the first half of 2016, talking advantage of low prices low demand to fix and upgrade equipment, a source told Reuters.

Production of oil and natural gas in Brazil by Petrobras, as the company is known, fell 7.1 percent in January compared with December, primarily because of maintenance.
