Poland keeps its key interest rate unchanged at 4.5 percent amid growth concerns

WARSAW, Poland (AP) -- Poland's central bank says it has left its main interest rate at 4.5 percent at a time when the country's fast-growing economy appears to be coming off the boil.

Wednesday's decision was expected. The bank has kept rates unchanged since last June even though inflation of 4.3 percent last year was ahead of the bank's target of 2.5 percent.

The country's central bank is concerned over the scale of the economic slowdown. Growth is expected to moderate to under 3 percent from 4.3 percent in 2011.
