Following receipt of her Bachelor's Degree, Ms. Gottlieb-Hirsch earned a Master's Degree from the University of California at Los Angeles in Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Cardiology and Liver Transplantation.

Sydney Gottlieb-Hirsch began her career in the healthcare field as a critical care nurse and later teaming up with researchers William Ganz and Jeremy Swan, as their research assistant in the development of the Swan-Ganz Pulmonary Artery Catheter. She then spent time traveling globally to teach physicians the proper way to use this device.

In 2001, Sydney Gottlieb-Hirsch decided to leave the healthcare field to use her skills and expertise in marketing and sales with the firm of Richard Marshall Fine Flooring, Inc., where she is currently the President. Richard Marshall Fine Flooring specializes in the creation and design of customized hardwood flooring with old world workmanship and the use of current and modern designs.

Ms. Sydney Gottlieb-Hirsch is a member of ICAA, the American Nurses Association, and the National Association of Professional Women where she has been recognized as a National Association of Professional Women VIP Woman of the Year.

She published a book titled "Congestive Heart Failure," which went on to win the Book of the Year Award in 1998 from the National American Association American Nurses Association. Additionally, she is published extensively in the area of Cardiology under the name of Sydney Michaelson, published chapters in many textbooks, and did extensive publications of Continuing Education Unit (CEU) courses on end stage liver disease and Hepatitis C.

When not at the office, Sydney Gottlieb-Hirsch enjoys gardening, cooking, and is passionate towards several charities, including the Democratic Party, the Public Broadcasting System, the Wildlife Society and the Wounded Warrior Project.
