Tata Motors' (TTM) Global Sales Rise 5% Y/Y in February - Analyst Blog

Tata Motors Limited’s TTM global wholesales, inclusive of the Jaguar Land Rover, totaled 83,951 vehicles in Feb 2015, 5% higher year over year. Cumulative global wholesales for Apr 2014 to Feb 2015 were 877,968 vehicles.

Global wholesales of all Tata Motors’ commercial vehicles and the Tata Daewoo range were 31,474 vehicles in Feb 2015, 8% higher than the figure recorded in Feb 2014. However, cumulative commercial vehicles sales from April through February declined 14% to 339,355 vehicles.

Tata Motors’ global wholesales of all passenger vehicles in the month of February went up 3% to 52,477 units, while cumulative sales from April through February increased 4% to 538,613 units. Passenger vehicles wholesales of Tata Motors’ vehicles in Feb 2015 rose 18% to 13,936 units. Cumulative wholesales for the April–February period dropped 8% to 122,227 units.

Jaguar Land Rover recorded global sales of 38,541 vehicles in Feb 2015, higher than 39,011 vehicles sold in Feb 2014. Cumulative wholesales for the April–February period stood at 416,386 vehicles, 8% higher year over year. Jaguar wholesales were 6,448 vehicles in February and wholesales for April–February were 68,164 units. Land Rover sales for the month totaled 32,093 vehicles and cumulative wholesales were 348,222 vehicles from April through February.

Rising auto sales in India are expected to boost the results of Tata Motors in future. Also, the company has undertaken several strategies, including new product launches, quality improvement and the enhancement of consumer experience in order to safeguard its long-term competitive edge. The company believes that these strategies will sustain the long-term profitability of its business.
