Much like last year, Twitter plans to celebrate Diwali in India with a dedicated emoji for the festival of lights. But this time the company is also ensuring that its users can customize how the emoji - a picture of diya (a traditional earthen lamp) - looks.

Twitter India is running a poll right now (embedded below), asking people which color of diya they would like. The social networking site is offering orange, blue, green, and pink color options. Last year's diya used shades of red and orange colors.

The poll will run till today evening and the result will be announced later tonight. The new diya emoji will be functional starting Oct. 28. Users will be able to get the diya emoji by adding #happydiwali to their tweets. The diya symbolizes optimism, prosperity and courage. The emoji resonates the same ideologies in the digital realm, the company said.
