Apple Earnings, Shake Shack IPO: What to Watch in the Week Ahead

For the week of January 26th, we watch highly anticipated earnings from Apple, the Shake Shack (SHAK) IPO, and the FOMC rate announcement. Apple (AAPL), the largest company by market value, reports fiscal first-quarter financial results. Apple shares rose to a high in November, giving the company a valuation of more than $700 billion. Other notable earnings include Microsoft (MSFT), Yahoo! (YHOO), and Facebook (FB). Plus, New York burger joint Shake Shack gets ready for its debut on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Also, the Federal Open Market Committee will meet to decide interest-rate policy. On the economic calendar we look for new home sales, weekly jobless claims, and fourth quarter GDP. TheStreet's Kurumi Fukushima reports from New York.
