Investor Optimism on the Stock Market Is Reaching All-Time Highs

A recent survey from Wells Fargo and Gallup points to rising consumer optimism as investors grow more confident in their personal finances and the economy. Joe Ready, director of retirement at Wells Fargo, says that investor optimism on the stock market in particular is reaching all-time highs. That increase in confidence plus extra disposable income from lower gas prices is prompting consumers to pay down debt, increase their savings rate and invest in the stock market, according to Ready. He says the findings are especially encouraging since consumers are choosing to improve their personal balance sheets instead of purchasing more products and services, as many expected.
