SUNNYVALE, Calif. (AP) _ Alpha and Omega Semiconductor Ltd. (AOSL) on Wednesday reported a fiscal second-quarter loss of $1.5 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The Sunnyvale, California-based company said it had a loss of 6 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and non-recurring costs, were 30 cents per share.

The chipmaker posted revenue of $114.9 million in the period.

For the current quarter ending in April, Alpha and Omega said it expects revenue in the range of $109 million to $113 million.

Alpha and Omega shares have climbed 17 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $11.94, a fall of 21 percent in the last 12 months.
